Live Nativity
The Live Nativity was a great night! Thanks to all who helped out!

Fourth Grade Store
The Fourth Grade Store is back!
There will be snacks available for your children to buy, ranging in price from $.25 to $1.00. The store will be open Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays during morning and lunch recess. Proceeds will be used to benefit various community needs/projects.

Did you know?
That the 6th Grade Environmental Classroom has a weather station where they can get up-to-the-minute weather information? They will be providing this information especially now that the weather is turning very cold. You can see the Temperature and the Wind Chill on the Monitors at school!!!

Sports News
All Sporting events are cancelled if school is cancelled!

Family Time
We will have a special Christmas Family Time on Friday, December 17th during 1st hour (8:35-9:17).

The service-learning activities last week were GREAT. I went with K-2 to Covenant Village in the afternoon.

RCS Ski Club
Ski Club Passes were handed out to signed-up students last week. Watch the home bulletin for notice of when Ski Club will begin.

All 7th/8th Grade Students will be singing on Monday, December 13 in a choral concert at Grand Rapids Christian High School

Live Nativity – December 9 (6-8 p.m.)
Help Make the Live Nativity Special
Please remind your children –
The Nativity Scene is a quiet place – especially during the readings.
If you want to pet the large animals, you will be able to do so with a parent present (for safety reasons) at 8:00 p.m.
Enjoy hot chocolate & cookies.
Invite another family and celebrate our Savior’s birth.

RCS Kids Club
Beginning with the month of December (this Friday), we will no longer be offering Kids Club on Friday afternoons due to lack of attendance.

Please make note
of a change in the schedule for Family Time the week before Christmas break:
We will not have our normal Family Time on Monday, December 13th. Instead, we will have a special Christmas Family Time on Friday, December 17th during 1st hour (8:35-9:17).

Family Time
There will be a family time Monday the 6th from 8:30-9:00.
Curt Sweedyk, from Kuyper College (A Music Ministry Major) will be leading this family time.

on Wednesday, the MS students went to the CAW to see a portion of the play “Annie”. I went too and it was great! I would recommend going this weekend, I think this is the last weekend to see

it!

Tom Felten from RBC Ministries will be coming and leading worship on the piano. Mr. Burgess is going to share some thoughts in preparation for the service-learning activities that will be taking place next week.

Next Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 23 and 24
will be special days at RCS. Out of gratitude to God for how He has blessed us, the students and teachers will be involved in various service-learning opportunities throughout the greater-Grand Rapids area in the morning. It’s promised to be a great time for the students to “let their light shine” in the community. You may know where your student is going but do you know where everyone else is going? Well, let me tell you.

4th – Purchasing and Packaging Gifts for Haiti

I will be joining the K-2nd graders as they go to Covenant Village on Lake Michigan Drive.

Who is going to Camp Roger next week?
Friday the 19th the Kindergarten is going in the AM and the 1st is going in the PM

Scooter Time in P.E.
For the next 2 weeks we will be enjoying scooter games, races and other activities during P.E. classes.

Environmental Classroom NEWS
The “GGA Open House” for this Sunday afternoon is postponed.

Thank you…
to Mrs. Melton and Mrs Redfield who spearheaded the Scrapbooking Extravaganza last weekend at RCS. From their efforts and the many of you who contributed food/drink items, the Environmental Classroom was able to receive $577.83 for our environmental trips in 2011. It was a great fundraiser for this fall and it will be repeated again next March. Be watching for the dates to be published in an upcoming home bulletin soon.

Middle School going to see Annie
On Wednesday, November 17, the middle school students will be going to Grand Rapids Christian High to see their production of “Annie”. They will leave at 11:45 and returning at 2:30.

Praise & Thank You!
We would like to thank our school family for the loving care, concern, and many prayers during such a difficult time in our lives. We praise God for the many blessings during Rick’s fall and in his healing. He is doing quite well and we owe this all to God. This is a true miracle.

Operation Christmas Child
This Friday, Nov. 5th, is the last day to turn in your items for OCC. We could use more small stuffed animals and baby dolls. We will still accept items next week, however, we will be packing the boxes. Also, don't forget to bring in $3 to help cover the shipping costs. The bake sale continues for the next couple of weeks (M - W - F during morning break). If your last name begins with G-L, please donate donuts or other baked goods for us to sell. Thank you!
The OCC Bake Sale takes place on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during our morning break. We ask that families with last name beginning A-F bring in donuts, other baked goods or cider this week. Items sell for 50 cents each. Proceeds from the bake sale goes towards the cost of shipping the boxes for OCC.

The 6th graders are going to show the preschoolers Camp Roger next week Thursday and Friday.

were sent home last week with students. Retake Day has been scheduled for Monday, November 8. You must have your entire packet with you if you wish to have retakes.

We had a wonderful day on Grandfriends’ Day!! That was my 8th Grandfriends’ Day at RCS I LOVE to watch the students react with their Grandparents
