The 6th grade Environmental Classroom students had an awesome time at the AuSable Institute for Environmental Studies near Kalkaska last week. They learned about hypothermia and water quality. They tested well water and water from Big Twin Lake for chlorides, turbidity, and pH. They also were looking through microscopes for microinverebrates. They also had a great time cross country skiing and playing broomball.

If you have any Prayer Requests, I would love to pray for you and your family!! I will put it up on the monitors so others can pray, too, or I don’t have to put on the monitors. E-mail me at dworst@grcs.org

February 7 -- Come visit Rockford Christian School! RCS's Showcase begins in the Worship Center at 6:30 p.m. with information about our quality, faith-based educational programs for children in preschool through 8th grade. The evening includes a short presentation and tours of the campus. Staff will be available to answer questions and welcome you to their classrooms. 8th grade news!!!
Save the Date!! – this week Friday, February 10

Make sure that you have the 8th Grade Class Play penciled in on your calendar for Friday, February 10! The play starts at 7:00 p.m. This year the play will be an adaption of the well-known story of “Alice in Wonderland.” Your evening at the play will guarantee many laughs, since a comical spin is put on this unique tale. This is a very family-fun-oriented play and is a great idea for a night out! Hope to see you there!

100 Day Challenge
We are challenging students to bring in a 100 coin collection on 100 Day. Bring 100 pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, or a combination of coins.

Coins can go a long way! The money that we raise will finance a micro-loan for people living on less than $1 a day. A loan of just 25 American dollars can change the life of someone living in extreme poverty. Micro-loans are given so an individual can start a business, provide for their families, send their children to school, improve their communities, and pay back the loan.

Kiva is an organization that provides a safe, efficient, and easy way to fund a micro-loan, chart progress, and be re-paid. The great thing about Kiva is that once the loan is re-paid, you can choose to use the same donation to fund another micro-loan and change another life!
Visit www.kiva.org for more information.

Help us meet our 100 Day Challenge! All donations will be collected in the lobby on 100 Day, which is Friday, February 10.
