Hot Lunch
Just a reminder: the last Hot Lunch day is this Friday, June 3.

CONGRATULATIONS!
Congratulations to Nick Ignatoski, Bailey Kolenda, Jordan Falk, Kaitlynn Kimmel and Tristan Fuller!
This past year a group of student writers met after school to practice and hone their writing skills. The first seven weeks were devoted to writing an essay on a topic of their choice. The second seven weeks were spent writing poems and stories. By the middle of February the essays were sent to a contest run by Creative Communication and, at the end of April, their poems were also sent to Creative Communications. All the students waited anxiously to see if their essay or poem would be accepted for publication.
For over eighteen years, Creative Communication has proudly brought recognition to student writers. Students from all over the United States send in essays to this contest. We are proud to announce that Nick Ignatoski and Bailey Kolenda had their essays accepted for publication. Jordan Falk, Kaitlynn Kimmel, Bailey Kolenda, and Tristan Fuller had their poems accepted for publication.
These students should feel honored as thousands of entries were not invited to be published. Publishing the high merit essays and poems from the contests creates a record of what is important to today’s students. Without this publication, the entries, which reflect the unique insight and perspective of the youth today, would be lost forever.

Please encourage students to return their books. The library will not have scheduled classes the last two weeks of school.

Amy is going back to Haiti.
This is Amy’s 3rd trip and this time she is going for a month!
She will be returning to Haiti by herself on June 8 and will be staying through till July 6.

I would like to welcome the Westbrook Family!
I want to welcome Taylor (3rd) and Michael (5th) and their parents, Scott and Cathy Westbrook, to our RCS family. The Westbrooks recently moved here from Georgia. They are a great family! I look forward to getting to know them more next year.

Have a good week!

It is with sadness that I write to notify you that Ken Conrad, father of 8th grader Audrey Conrad, died on Friday evening. He was diagnosed with stomach cancer only one week ago.

Please be in prayer for Audrey and her family in this time of loss and grief.
We are grateful that we serve a risen Savior who gives us hope in the midst of death.
