P.E. News
One more week of jumping rope.  The kids will have the opportunity to work with short ropes and long ropes.  Each student will be assessed on jumping a certain number of times in a row based on their grade level.  After jump rope, 3rd-8th graders will be spending several weeks playing volleyball.  The younger students will be working on various motor skills, like jumping and leaping.  They will also be practicing underhand and overhand skills.

3rd Grade News
The 3rd graders have been learning about ancient Egypt.  As a concluding activity, they will have an open house for their parents or other special guests this Friday, February 15 at 2:30 in the afternoon.

6th Grade Environmental News
Know someone who might be interested in finding out more about GRCS 6th Grade Environmental Program at Rockford Christian?
We'd love it if you could spread the word that our annual Open House/Informational Meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 5 at 7 p.m. Parents and students are welcome to attend to learn more about this unique learning opportunity for 6th graders. Questions?  Please email

The 6th grade Environmental Classroom students will be going to the AuSable Environmental Institute in the north woods of Michigan near Kalkaska.   They are leaving Wednesday morning and returning Friday afternoon.  Please keep the students, parents, and teachers in your prayers as they learn more about God’s wonderful world from the woods!!!

Did You Know ??????
That the sixth grade Environmental Classroom has a weather station that tells the temperature, wind speed, wind chill, barometric pressure, and many more things that are happening outside? The weather station will give us up-to-the-minute weather information so the kids won’t have to go outside for recess when the wind chill is below zero.  Be sure to watch for the weather information displayed on Mr. Dave’s blog each day.  Thanks, Mr. VerMerris, and the rest of the EC students!!!!!!

Family Time:
Thanks to 2nd Grade for leading the K – 5th Family Time!

Thanks to Mr. Kuiper for leading 6th – 8th  Family Time for sharing about GRCHS’s recent Winterim experiences and what high school students learned about loving God by loving others in the middle school chapel!

Be sure to ask your children to tell you about these great Family Times.
