Grandfriends' Day
I had a great day on Friday, which was Grandfriends' Day. I enjoyed talking to everyone. Thanks to all of the volunteers that helped make for a great day!

Bike-a-Thon: If you have a photo of the Bike-a-Thon, e-mail it to Mr. Dave at dworst@grcs.org. He will put it up on the monitors. Also, it might go in the yearbook!

Yearbook
The Annual Yearbook Cover Contest will begin on Monday, October 3 and end Monday, October 17. All students (k-8) are encouraged to enter! All they need to do is create a masterpiece that will be either or front (1st place) or back (2nd place) cover. Entries must be done on white (not off-white or paper w/ flecks) 8 1/2 x 11 paper and done in marker (not crayon, pencil, pen, or colored pencil - these just don't work well). Also, entries must have the following characteristics - Rockford Christian School, 2011-2012, the theme for this year, as well as the verse. Entries without these things will not be chosen. (The 8th grade yearbook staff and Mr. Burgess vote on the winners.) Student names should be written in pencil on the back and, if they choose, they may put their name and/or initials on the image they create (very small).
Entries can be turned in in the office.
Also, pre-ordering begins this week. The home bulletin will have details regarding that.

Live By the Spirit
The fruit of the Spirit is "Faithfulness" this month.

Rockford Care & Concern
Please continue in prayer for RCS parent Ann-Florence Andre-Pearson (mother of Ocean, 3rd grade), who traveled to the Mayo Clinic for an emergency procedure. She has been fighting a difficult infection in her body for many months, and we pray for wisdom for the medical staff treating her and for full healing and strength for Ann-Florence and patience and strength for her family

Please be in prayer for the family of Scott and Leesa Christophel. Scott’s father was recently diagnosed with cancer and will be moved from Indiana up to Michigan soon. Pray for grace, peace, and strength for his father and the family as they seek to provide care for him.
