Blog Update: October 1

I hope that you had a great weekend!!
I will try to let all of you know when each class will be going on field trips.

P.E. News
We will be doing fitness testing during October.  The 5 tests are the mile run, sit & reach, sit-ups, pull-ups and the shuttle run.

 Learning Commons News
Many students already have overdue books. The checkout period is two weeks and, if students do not return their books within that time, they will receive an overdue notice to remind them. Please check with your students to make sure they are remembering to return their library books.
Mark your calendars for the Scholastic Book Fair here at Rockford Christian the week of November 26! Books make great Christmas presents! We could also use a few volunteers to help out.

Reminder: Students in grades 6-8 need to charge their Netbooks every night if they take them home.

Family Time
Thank you to Rev. Amy Schenkel for her Family Time entitled “Revealing God’s Glory.”
Be sure to ask your child to tell you about this Family Time.

Since school now begins at 8:35 AM, we will plan on Family Time beginning at 8:45 till about 9:05 or 9:10 each week (depending on what is planned).

Everyone is invited to attend our Family Time on Monday mornings at 8:45 AM.
We hope to see you there whenever you can make it!

A week at a glance:
We had the 2nd Fire Drill of the year today; the kids have been very safe and efficient with these.

Friends from PAWS with a Cause are coming to visit the preschool classes on Oct. 3 to teach us how a dog is trained to help me, I am waiting for a new dog and we thought it would be exciting to have the entire school involved in collecting items or money that PAWS staff needs to accomplish their training.  Please consider adding to our collection by bringing in items from the list and placing them in the boxes by the entries until Oct. 3.  We can’t wait to show you my new dog!  Thank you.

I’m praying for you  to walk humbly with your God.

Thanks for all that you do for God’s kingdom!
Mr. Dave
