Parent/Teacher Conferences - October 15

Conference schedules were sent home. Please contact the office if you have not seen your schedule.

Learning Commons News

Fifth graders will wrap up Real Reads this Friday morning with a breakfast celebration. They’ve done a great job of reading realistic fiction books. Be on the lookout for unusual characters walking around school Friday because fifth graders will be dressing up as characters from the books they’ve read.
OVERDUE BOOKS: Does your student have an overdue book? This week 42 students received overdue notices for books they’ve kept beyond the due date. Help the library out by reminding your student to return books they’ve read.

Conference Night Child Care

Parents, do you need someone to watch your children while you attend Parent-Teacher Conferences on Tuesday, October 15?  If so, you have a fun and friendly option to choose right here at school!  8th graders will be offering their babysitting services, complete with activities planned, from 3:45-8:00 p.m. on these conference nights in order to raise money for their class trip to Mackinaw City in May.  Take advantage of this convenient and entertaining (or educational if your child needs to get some homework done!) opportunity, and help to support the 8th graders with a donation. Sign in/out will be in the band/music room. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Mrs. Oren. Thanks!

Lost and Found
Lost and Found has grown quite large. Please check the Lost & Found table during conferences. Any items left at Thanksgiving Vacation will be donated to New 2 You.

Yearbook Cover Contest

Yearbook cover contest began October 1 and runs through tomorrow, October 15.  All Kindergarten through 8th grade ORIGINAL, non computer aided, parent aided, or relative aided work will be eligible.  It must contain our School Theme, "Rooted in Love," our Theme Verse, Ephesians 3:17b-19, as well as "Rockford Christian School", and  "2013-2014".   Please put your name and grade in pencil on the back of your entry.  DO NOT put your name on the front.  All entries must be submitted with marker, no crayon or colored pencil entries will be accepted.  Paper size must be 8 1/2 x 11 and white (You may color it whatever color you like!).  We will be selecting 2 winners, one for the front cover and one for the back cover.  All entries will be displayed after the winners are chosen by Mr. Burgess.  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Solle or Mrs. Wierenga. Entries should be turned in to the school office.
