Blog Update Tuesday, October 22, 2013

I hope you had a good weekend.  I did.
I’m sorry this is a day late

No School - October 24 & 25
Our teachers will be attending the Christian Educators Association convention in South Bend, Indiana with other Christian school colleagues. Classes resume on Monday, October 28.

River Rock has opened the doors to the Student Space. Beginning on Tuesdays, during noon recess and lunch, RCS middle school students can use that space to hang out in and eat their lunches.  Bobby and other River Rock staff will be there to meet with the students and monitor that time.  As in past years, grade levels will take turns using the Student Space each Tuesday.

Parking/Drop-off
Parents, when dropping off students before school you are asked to not leave your car parked in the turn around and unattended. If you feel it necessary to walk in with your student, please park in the parking lot.

Starting today you can order a Rockford Christian yearbook. Order your yearbook for $20 today! After December 1, the price will be going up.  Additional order forms are available in the office.  Please email Kim Wierenga at kwierenga@grcs.org if you have any questions.

6th Grade Environmental Classroom News
This  week the 6th grade Environmental Classroom students will be doing their recycling presentations.  In this presentation they will be introducing a new recycling project to RCS--Drink Pouch Brigade!! (CapriSun and other brands of empty drink pouches).  Each classroom will receive a container for your students to put in their empty juice pouches.  No drink boxes, please.  Every two weeks the EC students will come around and collect the pouches.  All your students will need to do is to simply place the empty pouches in the container (straws left in are ok).  Rockford Christian Environmental Fund will receive money from Terracycle for the drink pouches.  A win-win for everyone!!!!

In the Middle School Family Time on Monday morning, Mr. VerMerris spoke about the most important question in the entire world, because it is a question that each person MUST answer and your answer will last an eternity---
"Who do you say I am?"
Jesus

 No School - CEA Convention

Just a reminder that here at RCS, we focus on Harvest rather than Halloween.    We do have a handful of families who carefully avoid all Halloween activities and appreciate us doing the same at school.

Thanks for all that you do for God’s kingdom!
Mr. Dave
