Blog Update Monday May 12, 2014

I hope that you all had a great Mother’s Day!!
We would like to invite all of you to our end-of-year Student Art Show and Open House for Retirees on Tuesday, May 27, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
We will be celebrating the retirement of three long-time RCS and GRCS employees:
Mrs. Pat VanderLaan
Ms. Sharon Velthouse
Mr. Mark Worst
Please join us in thanking these three individuals for all they have given to bless our Christian school community through the years.  We hope to see you there!

Family Time News
Thank you to Mrs. Bardolph’s class and Mrs. Underwood’s class for leading us in Family Time today! They helped us celebrate our moms!

Fun Run
Our annual PTO fundraiser is this coming Friday afternoon, May 16.  We will be raising money that stays right at RCS to help off-set costs for field trips and playground supplies and supervision, as well as giving teachers discretionary funds to use to enhance their classrooms.

Students will be running/walking throughout the afternoon based on the following schedule:

1:15 - 1:30  PK  (any preschool students who want to run)
1:20 - 1:40  Kindergarten
1:25 - 1:55  8th Grade
1:30 – 2:00  3rd Grade
1:35 – 2:05  1st Grade
1:40 – 2:10  5th Grade
1:45 - 2:15  2nd Grade/ Spanish Immersion
1:50 - 2:20  7th Grade
1:55 - 2:25  4th Grade
2:00 - 2:30  6th Grade
2:40 – 3:00(ish)     Final Assembly in Worship Center  

Please remember that pledge envelopes are due on Wednesday this week.

Camp Roger
We are finished going to camp for this school year except for six graders. Thank you to Mr. Phil and Mr. VanderWell and all the Camp Roger staff for an exciting year at camp!
6th Grade Environmental Classroom News:  This Week
The 6th graders did a great job in The Joyful Noise: Poems for Two Voices performances, on Friday.
