Blog Update Monday May 5, 2014

I finally got my hands on this, as promised.  It is the video of Mr. Burgess that Mary Free Bed made.  If you haven’t seen it, you can click on the link, and hopefully it will work for you.
“A Lesson in Faith, Hope and Rehabilitation” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xVSk2-fwf4

We would like to invite all of you to our end-of-year Student Art Show and Open House for Retirees on Tuesday, May 27.
We will be celebrating the retirement of three long-time RCS and GRCS employees:
Mrs. Pat VanderLaan
Ms. Sharon Velthouse
Mr. Mark Worst
Please join us in thanking these three individuals for all they have given to bless our Christian school community through the years.
The event will run from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.  We hope to see you there.
Book Fair: A huge thank you to Coleen Knape, mother of Emma Johnson (5th grade) for running the Scholastic Book Fair last week! Hopefully you were able to stock up on lots of books for summer reading!
Family Time News
Ms. Velthouse invited a special guest to Family Time today. Her cousin, a retired teacher and principal, talked to us about different kinds of roots and what roots do and and how we can compare roots to our Christian walk.

6th Grade Environmental Classroom news  this Week
Last week the 6th grade Environmental Classroom students we actual scientists as they worked on Grand Valley State University’s water research vessels on Spring Lake and Muskegon Lake.  They collected vital information that will be used by other scientists.
This week they will be putting the final touches on their Environmental Action Projects (EAPs).  These projects will be on display next Monday, May 12.
It's that time of the year again; the 6th grade students are working on presenting poems from Paul Fleischman's book Joyful Noise: Poems for Two Voices, and they'd love to have a live audience for their final performances.
Please feel welcome to join us...
