PAWS with a Cause
Friends from “PAWS with a Cause” came to visit
the preschool classes today, to teach us how a dog is trained to help me - Mr.
Dave. We were excited to see a “foster puppy”!
The entire school collected items or donated
money that PAWS staff need to accomplish the dogs’ training.

Pumpkins for Sale
You will be able to purchase an RCS homegrown
pumpkin from the 2nd graders during morning recess beginning on Wednesday in
the elementary hallway. Limit is 5 per household. These pumpkins are great for
painting on or decorating for the harvest season! We will be also be selling
pumpkins on Grandfriend’s day! All proceeds will go toward a charity chosen by
the 2nd graders.
Learning Commons News
Please ask your student about books they have
checked out from the library. They would love to share them with you! Reading
together is a fun and relaxing way to spend time with your child and promotes
literacy. Be aware of which day is their library day and remind them to return
books promptly.
5th graders will celebrate realistic fiction
reading at the “Real Reads” breakfast celebration next Monday. They will be
dressing up or bringing props to portray a favorite character from one of the
books they’ve read.

Grandfriends’ day is this Friday, October 10,
from 10:00 thru lunch. If you e-mail me a picture of your student with their
grandfriends, I will put it on the monitors for that day. If you would
like, you can add a comment to the picture as well. You can email me at
dworst@grcs.org. I’ll need the pictures by Thursday in order to have them up on
Friday.
