Parent-Teacher Conference Babysitting
Parents, do you need someone to watch your children while you attend Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, October 16 (3:45-8:00), and Tuesday, October 21 (1:15-5:30)?  If so, you have a fun and friendly option to choose right here at school!  8th graders will be offering their babysitting services, complete with activities planned, during these Conference times in order to raise money for their class trip to Mackinaw City in May.  Take advantage of this convenient and entertaining (or educational if your child needs to get some homework done!) opportunity, and help to support the 8th graders with a donation.  Sign in/out will be in the middle school hallway.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact Mrs. Oren SOren@GRCS.ORG

Parent-Teacher Conference Schedules
Have you seen your conference schedule? If not, please contact the office for your conference time(s).

In Sympathy
Last Tuesday morning, our friends at South Christian High School lost teacher and golf coach Rod VanDyke in a tragic accident.  In reading about his life, a portrait of a wonderful man is revealed.  Legendary coach John Wooden gave the advice, “Be true to yourself, help others, make each day your masterpiece, make friendship a fine art, drink deeply from good books - especially the Bible, build a shelter against a rainy day, give thanks for your blessings and pray for guidance every day.”  It looks as though Mr. VanDyke lived that kind of life.  Please pray for the VanDyke family and the South Christian community.

Hearing & Vision Screening
The screening is provided by the Kent County Health Department and will take place on Monday and Tuesday, October 27 and 28.
Vision: PK, 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th
Hearing: PK, K, 2nd and 4th
If your child is not scheduled for a particular screening and you would like them to be screened, please contact the school office.

Learning Commons News
Please ask your student about books they have checked out from the library. They would love to share them with you! Reading together is a fun and relaxing way to spend time with your child and promotes literacy. Be aware of which day is their library day and remind them to return books promptly
