6th Environmental Classroom news for this week
SAVE THE DATE: The 6th grade students will be presenting their poem presentations on Monday, May 9th from 2:30-3:00 in the Worship Center. Everyone is invited to see/hear/experience this year’s poem recitations from Joyful Noise: Poems for Two Voices by Paul Fleischman.

We plan to start promptly at 2:30 and will finish by 3:00.
Hope to see you there!

On Wednesday the 6th graders will be going to Frederik Meijer Gardens in the afternoon for their spring work afternoon.  They will be assisting the outdoor horticulture staff in whatever jobs they need completed.  It’s a great way to learn and help at the same time!!

GVSU Annis Water Research Vessel--Friday
We will be leaving RCS around 10:00 am on Friday for the GVSU Annis Water Research Facility.  Your child must wear closed-toed shoes (no flip-flops) and dress for the weather since it will be about 10 degrees cooler out on the water.  Please have your child bring a sack lunch on Friday since we’ll be eating prior to getting onboard the WD Jackson at 12:00.  If your child is prone to seasickness, please consider sending one of the motion sickness remedies (ex. Dramamine) along with your child.
Parents going with Mr. VM—Mr. Warner, Mr. Stanton, Mr. Kormash
We had a great time with the 5th and 7th graders last week Wednesday when we released the chinook salmon in the Rogue River in Rockford.  It was a great time of bidding these tiny fish a fond goodbye as they begin their journey to Lake Michigan and back in 3-4 years.
